The Run4Reforestation  (5k, 10k and 21k)

Since 2018, Zomba TREEZ has organised the Run 4 Reforestation, a running (or walking) event taking place on the Plateau aimed at raising funds for the project itself.

​

The event takes place on the first Saturday in September and consists of: a 5, 10 and 21km trail run.

​

For those interested in running any of the routes, most of the tour guides would be happy to run with you.

Bird watching

​

 The plateau is a paradise for bird watchers, supporting a variety of rare and uncommon species. Please ask your guide for the best birding locations.

​

Orchids

 

The Plateau is home to over 30 different species of orchid, some of them endemic to the Plateau. For those interested in orchids, guests must be prepared to get wet as they grow throughout the rainy season. Orchid season runs from late October into May but peaks in January and February.

Cycling

​

Cycling is a great way to see the many sights on the Plateau. Most of the trails are accessible to bicycles.
